Are you so focused on caring for others and juggling work demands that you have little time left for yourself and your passions?

You’ve heard it a million times—self-care is essential. But somehow, over the years, your daily to-do lists never seem to include you. If you are ready to change that and finally prioritize your well-being, we should talk.

I am passionate about helping people get out of their own way. Sometimes, that means unpacking past trauma, learning to identify and express emotions, or simply giving ourselves permission to break free from unrealistic rules and beliefs that no longer serve us. My approach is always personalized, drawing from your strengths, culture, and unique lived experiences. Together, we'll explore unhelpful thought patterns, underlying emotions, and behaviors that might be holding you back from the life you deserve.

I specialize in supporting people through trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, anger management, relationship building, and developing (or rebuilding) self-esteem.

My formal journey began at Hampton University (the real HU!), where I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology. I went on to complete my master’s in counseling psychology at Temple University and my doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Along the way, I trained at the Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center for my APA-accredited internship and completed a yearlong postdoctoral fellowship at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked in universities, medical centers, community mental health, and private practice, while also facilitating community-based and professional trainings, presentations, and healing spaces.

Inside and outside the therapy space, I consider myself a personal hype woman. I’ll do whatever it takes to get the shot and make sure you never forget how amazing you are. When I’m not working, you’ll find me listening to audiobooks, watching movies, traveling, getting dressed up to try new restaurants, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying all things Black women-related.

I joined The Black Girl Doctor because I believe Black women deserve safe places to heal, grow, and experience unwavering joy. We shouldn’t have to sacrifice our peace to show up for the world—because we deserve better.
